Functional Training is the exercise training classification that gets your body ready to perform daily life activities. We can only assume the reason so many people are searching this term is because of all the food consumed over the Christmas Holidays.

What is interesting is all the resistance type weight machines everyone got for Christmas is NOT good for Functional Training. But, guess what is. The old dumbbells are. You know, the ones collecting dust under the bed. They have that nice coat of brown rust on the surface if you’re real old. If you’re not old, they’re probably plastic, maybe filled with sand!

As usual, one of the best places to start your search is at Wikipedia. How about a web site that has all kinds of programs already made up for you? Heres a blog that really explains why we would use dumbbells.

How about a car door that disappears?

Pretty basic right…..you open the car door and it swings away from the car. If you think about it, the door design on a car hasn’t changed in years. Problem is, it swings out into traffic. Well, how about if it didn’t swing out into traffic?

You can watch the new disappearing door video and see what the new idea is in car design. Looks pretty interesting to me. This one idea would have to bring down insurance rates. No more car doors clipped off by passing traffic.

The internet world is searching for info on the Four Corners Monument. The four corners monument marks the intersection of the states of Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Utah. It is the only point in the United States that is shared by four states. That may be a question somewhere!
You can also find other information about the monument. Here are some photos of the monument. Maybe you need a map to go visit the monument. And of course, here’s what wikipedia says about the monument.

This is a pretty cool game. Test how well you can separate the functions of your left and right brain. You will be shown a word on the top of the panel. The word will be in color. Below the word are two buttons. You have to pick the color of the word shown.

The problem comes in when the word says red, and the color of the word is orange. You have a tendency to select what the color says, not the color of the button.

I’ll take your $25.00 and turn it into $50.00

How do I do that? I’ll just pay myself to write an article. It would work like this. I am writing this article. I win the $25.00. I put the $25.00 in my pocket because I already did the work. What I need is a return on my investment.

Money I expect to gain - Thats a no brainer, look at the title. I expect to make $25.00. Isn’t that what this writing project is all about? It’s like investing my $25.00 for writing the article. Talk about a WIN-WIN situation! I write an article - you give me $25.00. Right off the GIT-GO I’m even. But - I want to invest my effort, and turn it into something.

Pretty simple! I will put text ads on this article and make $25.00. Lets see, I get a CTR of 3%. Whoops, that’s a techy term. If I get 100 visits, I will average 3 clicks. OK, so to make $25.00, I need to know how much I make per click. That’s a secret of course, but we can make up something. Let’s say $.35 per click. WOW! I only need 72 clicks. Piece of cake! I think I can do it.

If I need 72 clicks I need about 2400 impressions. Whoops, another one of those techy words. If I show my article to 2,400 visitors, I should be able to get 72 clicks, if my made up CTR is correct. Lets see - if I get 1 view per day, that’s 365 per year. It will take me a little over 6 years to make my money. Love it!

Now lets dream, if I make $25.00 on one article, How many articles do I need for $100,000 per year? This stuff is so easy! I already know I can make $3.85 per article, per year. All I need is 26,000 articles. Lets see, 1 article per day average, 365 articles per year. WOW! No problem at all. I just need 71 years or so to make my $100,000 per year. Average life expectancy is 85, so I get to make $100,000 per year for 14 years by doing nothing.

Thank god I joined this writing project, and I’m going to get more than 1 visit per day! Thank you for your time. I’ve done my job, now give me my $25.00. Ha Ha! If I don’t win, obviously, I’m in big trouble.

This article was part of a writing project at Make money with JMMO. Check out what other people did with $25.00. I’m going to read each article, since I just proved writing one article per day won’t make it.

Citibank fails at “Personal Identity Theft” protection

Sometimes you experience something and you just can’t believe what happened. I am away from my home, and needed to send in my mortgage payment. I wanted to send it by mail, so being an internet type guy, I go online to get the info.

You would think that would be easy. NOTTA! I could not find where to send my payment. OK, I’ll just call and get the address. Great there’s the number.

I dial (punch-in) the number. WHAM! There it hits me. “Thank you for calling, to serve you better, please enter your social security number, or Fed ID Number”. YIKES!!!! I didn’t do anything, so they asked for it two more times. I can’t believe it! I’m dumbfounded. I actually had to call back two more times to make sure that’s what I heard. Here, you try it. The number is 1-800-374-9700. It’s for Citibank.

I’m just wondering if I did leave my number where would it go? I mean if they are asking for it, they are going to put it somewhere right. Would it get displayed to the next person I talk to? Would it become part of that “for evaluation purposes, your call is being recorded”? I’m visualizing this big recording somewhere with all these social security numbers on it just waiting for some evil person to listen and start copying all those numbers.

Heres what the Social Security Administration says about your social security number.

“You should treat your social security number as confidential information and avoid giving it out unnecessarily.”

I hope everyone understands the problem here!

YIKES! By the way, I had to be transferred to two people before I got the address to send my money.

Get your prospects to call you! Using the BloggingZoom Tool

The BloggingZoom Tool creators claim they can do two main things. They can expose your blog article to the search engines, and they will promote your blog article. Great! I have an article that needs to be exposed and promoted.

What better test for this free service, then a blog that was just started. The search engines don’t know it exists. The world doesn’t even know it exists yet. Using the BloggingZoom Tool, I say I can get my blog recognized on search engines faster than what would normally take place on my website. In order to know if the BloggingZoom tool works we have to know what would normally happen. Then we will have something to compare the results to.

What have I done so far? Yesterday I published a real estate article on my blog. Next, I wrote a reference real estate article on my web site pointing to the new article. Then I submitted the article to BloggingZoom. I would estimate the article reference on my web site would take about 8 to 16 days to get indexed. The article itself I’m not sure about since it is a new blog. I would think about the same time. I’m sure the BloggingZoom tool can do better than that. I know, because I’ve already used the tool. What’s different this time is I wrote an article that is not very popular, or very interesting. Not much interest unless you know it’s being used to test some things. I’m not looking for traffic; I’m looking to get my blog recognized.

The real estate article:
I am always trying to let the small business owner know the benefits of a blog. The article I wrote is asking the owner of a small business comment on my article. The only way they would know that someone wrote an article about them is by seeing the article listed in an index, or someone seeing the article and referring them to the article.

I’ll keep score. The BloggingZoom Tool versus my web site reference article. I want to know when each would get indexed, and when and if the owner will comment on my blog.

Traffic – Twelve days later - 33 looks at article.

Search Engine Results –

Three days later - Article is indexed in Google from BloggingZoom. Is this proof enough? The Localref reference article is NOT indexed yet. At this point if the real estate company has an alert set, they will be notified today. If they search Google everyday, they will only see the listing if they go to the 50th listing! If they check their site stats they will see the link from BloggingZoom.

Four days later - Localref reference article is indexed. I estimated eight days as a minimum. Another excellent example of the benefits of BloggingZoom.

Five days later - This morning when we search the real estate company, there are four references. The highest ranked result is the localref reference article, with the blog article right under it. This is the ninth listing. The other two search engine results show up about 20th. These are the two bloggingzoom references. Is this great or what, I actually have four chances to get the attention of the business owner.

Twelve days later - Web sites that are submitting to the bloggingzoom rss feed, are starting to show up on search results.

Twenty-one days later - Looks like everything is listed in google search results. Of interest is when I search the realtor, the bloggingzoom actual article is now what shows up above all else. They show up in 5th place. The localref reference article is in 15th place. Everyone should be aware of this. My goal was to get attention to my article. By doing that bloggingzoom is ahead of me in the search results. I say so what, I wanted them to come to me. Good, let them go to blogging zoom first, then they will come to me. I guess until I can get listed in the search results before bloggingzoom, this is the way for me to go.

Response to the article by the owners – I am proud to announce that the owner Judi answered the article today, January 21, 2008. It took about 70 days. I did my job, and sadly the owners didn’t do their job. It was interesting that the owner asked how to set alerts. I don’t think this is much different than a lot of web site owners. They don’t pay attention to what is going on in the internet world.

ADDED BONUS! - Another Real Estate person did respond, and they discussed the benefits of the internet! I offered them help to promote anything they are working on. Interesting that this person also joined BloggingZoom. I added them as a friend.

BloggingZoom – Tool for bloggers

Last time I heard there were over 11 million blogs in existence on the web. There are all kinds of blogs. Some blogs are just for making money, or trying to make money. Some blogs are just about the daily events in a person’s life.

Whatever your blog is about, there is a new tool available to help you out. BloggingZoom is a tool you can use to get your blog articles promoted.

I gave the tool a quick run through to see how it works. I found that they publish an article reference post that you create on their tool that helps your blog article get more exposure. If you’re on the low end of the blogging spectrum and spend most of your time waiting for the search engines to index your article, this tool will be a very useful tool for you! When you create your article reference post about your article, the tool will create a link to your article from their site. When the search engines read their site which includes your post, the search engines are directed to your article.

If you’re an established blogger making millions of dollars, there is still a reason for you to use the BloggingZoom tool. When you submit your article reference post, it is placed on a page with other articles written on the same subject. Can anyone say “keyword”?
